The client brief was to create an outdoor cooking and eating area which would fit in with their charming red brick period cottage property, whilst reminding them of their holidays in the Mediterranean.

We created a cosy circular seating area, enclosed with raised planters and built in additional seating. Plants included a large, knarly old olive tree and several Yucca rostrata, with grasses, lavender and other drought tolerant plants in the gravel areas. Sandstone paving was recycled from an existing patio and bricks were chosen to match the cottage. An oak pergola (made by Oak By Design) covers a bar seating area, adjoining an existing pizza oven, with an outdoor kitchen around the corner.
