Yard Makeover

June 2019

This is a tiny yard in a new estate of homes for older people. The client loves plants and gardening but required a garden that she could enjoy maintaining with relative ease.

The sitting room window is upstairs and overlooks the garden so a strong visual layout was important. Flowing curves lead around the space, incorporating a circular seating area. Brick edging was chosen to match the surrounding brickwork of the houses and accentuate the lines, filled in with neutral buff tones of sandstone and gravel to match the garden wall.

Lorna accompanied the client to the nursery in order to select the plants she had in mind and assisted with the planting.

Hard landscaping was implemented by Hudson Plant & Excavations Ltd
